NGNU provided advisory services on the Victoria Cross over-station development in North Sydney, part of the Sydney Metro program. Our role included construction methodology advice, staging input, and integration strategies to align the over-station works with live metro infrastructure.
This contribution supported one of Sydney’s most significant urban transport projects, where commercial development was integrated directly with critical transport infrastructure.
The main challenge was developing delivery strategies for a complex CBD site above a live metro station. Works needed to be staged to minimise disruption to passenger movements and station operations while still meeting the client’s program requirements. The constrained urban footprint added further complexity, with limited access for materials, services coordination, and high safety expectations.
NGNU advised on methodology and sequencing that balanced program feasibility with operational safety. Our input helped define staging strategies that reduced interface risks between station operations and construction activity. By combining technical construction knowledge with practical sequencing expertise, NGNU supported Sydney Metro and its partners to progress the Victoria Cross development in a way that safeguarded operations while enabling delivery of a landmark mixed-use precinct.
