PVH.

The newly expanded office space now spans an impressive 5000 square metres across four floors. The design of the space is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing, with a beautifully integrated atrium that features a stunning 15 metre high green column. This column overlooks George Street, providing a breath-taking view for employees and visitors alike.

The client is ecstatic with the outcome of the project, as the operational space was delivered on time and under the established budget.

The challenge.

Working with PVH, we joined the project at an early stage after the site selection process. The project was unique in the aspect it was not a conventional relocation. PVH was not just moving from a fringe area with a warehouse; they were transitioning into a multi-floor building situated in the CBD.

PVH also had a requirement to have operational showrooms where they conduct their market sales within what is traditional a commercial environment.

Over the top of that was significant time pressures with engagement occurring just a couple of months before Christmas and business objectives to have the project delivered by one of their mid-market selling seasons.

This presented us with an interesting challenge that required careful planning and coordination to ensure a smooth transition for PVH.

How we delivered success

In order to ensure success in our delivery, we followed a co-design process with our clients. This involves actively involving them in the design decisions and incorporating their feedback throughout the project. By working closely with the client, we are able to understand their vision and create a design that meets their specific requirements.

However, we also remain cognizant of the program deliverables that need to be achieved. This means that while we prioritize the client’s preferences, we also consider the necessary elements needed to secure authority and building owner approvals. By striking a balance between these two aspects, we are able to deliver a design that satisfies both the client’s needs and the building owners requirements.

During the project, we placed a significant amount of emphasis on design, investing considerable effort in the initial stages. We made sure to consult extensively with all design consultants involved, ensuring to meet the pre-Christmas milestones, as these were crucial for initiating engagement with the relevant authorities.

By offering a range of procurement methodologies, we were able to cater to our clients’ needs while ensuring the best value and outcome for their projects. Our diverse options allowed us to strike a balance between meeting critical timelines and objectives. Whether it was traditional procurement or more innovative approaches, we provided our clients with suitable choices that aligned with their specific requirements.

This manifested through ECI engagement with the selected managing contractor allowed us to commence works on a number of long lead time items that were required due to inherent issues with the base building offering.

This allowed further detail Design and refinement of tailored spaces such as the design studios to be refined whilst not having an impact to the critical path of the program.
